Bob graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1968. He worked as a Steelworker for 8 1/2 years. He was a professional firefighter for 24 years retiring with a rank of captain. Additionally, he was owner  of Lucas Carpets & Installations for 27 years. He served as City of Sharon Councilman for 2 years before becoming Mayor of Sharon as of Jan 1, 2006.
